Magazine DPS: We wanted to reinvent the recipe ad; we wanted to brave new frontiers; we wanted to forge a new paradigm in the tired world of packaged goods. We wanted to, but we got really jammed on the television work and burned up all of our time. So I wrote what I thought were some decent headlines in my bathtub one morning (I know, too much information) and Briony did some classic art direction. We figured we had done a respectable, professional job and that was that. We weren't even going to put the work in our portfolios. And then we started winning awards. Lots and lots of awards, including being on page 1 of the Communication Arts Advertising Annual. Lesson learned: do good work where good work isn't usually done and people will give you shiny things. cw cd
